Well, castration talk doesn't bother me as much. I wonder why...?
But the reason why so many vets recommend neutering is to keep animal populations low. Like, say you bred your dog and it made 8 puppies. You work hard to make sure each of the puppies gets a good home. How do you know the people that get
your puppies will not just allow their dog to breed left and right? And how do you know one of them won't somehow end up in an abusive situation one way or another, no matter how hard you try?
Lastly, and this might be weird... but sex is not particularly physically stimulating for animals. It's simply a desire to spread their genetics around. I won't go into too much detail on this one, because it can get kind of... sensitive.
Currently, scientists have found that only apes and dolphins have sex for pleasure.
