@Handle: It's more that I simply don't have the time to dedicate to practice and learning anatomy and whatnot. Not to mention that I've honestly never been that big of a fan of uber-realistic artwork anyway.

@Ginger: I like L, I was just pointing out a general problem with the series as a whole. Not to say that I didn't enjoy the series, I did, I just thought that a lot of the scheming crossed into "okay, there's no way you planned that" territory. And even in that regard L was always the most believable anyway. He struck me as more genuinely intelligent, while Light was always just really lucky that things played out in his favor.

Schneizel never actually interested me. He was too perfect, and his perpetual deadpan just came off as a lack of personality to me. Combine that with the villain he was replacing, the impossibly implausible series of predictions necessary on Lelouch's part to beat him, and the fact that he cheats at Chess, and I couldn't really bring myself to like him.

I hope that Shining Armor is actually a well done character who doesn't seem tacked on. I'm very curious to see what he and Twilight's relationship is like, considering she has never once mentioned him before.

One little criticism I have for the show is that while the Mane Cast is extremely well developed and characterized, it has a tendency to make the minor characters extremely one dimensional and inconsistent. Moving into season 3, I hope they will get better at that.

Well, it's rather hard to come up with any examples of shows with fully fleshed out and developed side characters. The very fact that they don't get much screen time makes it nearly impossible to do so.
