I'm enjoying this pony RP talk. I was expecting a simple, play as characters and RP. Not, make a D&D style game and RP.
Yeah, Andromeda is heading for you. You got over 9000 years until it collides.
@Apple: That strong a spell would take serious practice to learn, so he might get it later in his career once he gets really good at magic.
Confound these accidental double posts!
Anyway, I think
Wo D already has been adapted for ponies.

How about an actual
Time Travel spell? Or would that be a total
Game Breaker?

I am universally recognised as a mature and responsible adult.
Even the most basic time manipulation should have very high INT prerequisites. You'd have to put a lot of effort into study to understand the mechanics behind it.
Also, more advanced or dangerously exploitable Time Magic would be sealed in the Star Swirl the Bearded Wing in the Canterlot Castle Library.
You could probably put in stuff like speed buffs at relatively early levels.
Time reversal spells and such, especially ones that last that long, would be probably around 5th-level arcane spells... so you'd need to be the equivalent of 9th level in D&D to cast them.
Can you think inside the chimney?
I'm guessing Heavy Armour would give a penalty to flight. Would that penalty be negated with sufficient strength?
Tealove is best pony.

I've always thought that Spike is Twilight's familiar.

Really the only familiar function Spike performs is to help Twilight with spells, and even that's mostly through helping her draw circles, I would imagine. He doesn't really meet my idea of a familiar otherwise.
