Yeah hoof mounted makes some sense, look how hard AJ can buck, now add in a few feet of steel being added to the end of that (mostly likely from some spring loaded release that keeps the blade riding along her leg until she bucks, then springing out.
Some smaller Katar like blades on the forehooves, for quick, but less powerful hits, maybe some larger weapons held in there mouth, or head mounted.

I like how we're talking like swinging a sword at a dragon with your head would give you enough force to do any damage at all without snapping your neck like the brittle twig it is compared to dragonhide.
Can you think inside the chimney?
@ Red, if the sword was sharp enough, it would take very little overall fore to cuase the actual pressure felt and the cut to be enormous.

Who says Equestrian ponies keep their brains in their heads? They could keep it in their knees for all we know.

pony runs in, jumps at the dragons side, gets in a few good hits with there hooves and hoof weapons, rebounds off the dragons side and hits the ground running away to circle around to another blind spot.

@Bad oh she could take out the every dragon there given enough time... the army is there to stop dragons from scattering and reaching the towns/cities
I really wanted the sisters to be powerful

@Seraphem: Still, we're talking dragonhide. That's whiplash for the
survivors.
Actually, spikes on the back hooves might be the best choice, but that would be awkward to walk on unless they were recessed into platform-like horseshoes...

A spell to summon a tidal wave would be more useful in a fight against a dragon than a sword anyway.

still probaly some soft spots, or the first wave is the heavy buckers, after there metal enhanced bucking shatters a few scales, the slicers come in to attack the holes.

I thought of another pair of ponies whose cutie marks have nothing to do with their names. The Flim Flam brothers. Their names together fit their personalities (smooth-talking con artists) but their cutie marks are both different proportions of an apple.
Pink Sugar Heart Attack!
also @ Ginger, this story is sounding great, hope we eventaully get it written

given what we've seen AJ do with a lasso, yeah slings are definitely on the table. But would do much against dragon hide...unless there aiming at the eyes or putting them down his throat.

Wait, this is for a story? I thought you guys were discussing dragon-slaying just because.
Yeah, I think CDRW is on the right track; something more along the lines of brass knuckles, only for ponies.
What definition of Dragonhide are we using?
