How does seeing her eat Cake qualify her as one of them again? She's eaten Cake before

Did a bit more research. A major is generally second-in-command of a squadron, while the Lieutenant Colonel is the commander. Spitfire's the mare in charger, so he's definitely a Major. Huh, that's cool. He seems really relaxed for a military guy... I wonder what he thinks when people use his full title?

@ Lurker: Ah, shoot. Unfortunately not. And the new core ruleset no longer goes for $10. It's closer to $20 or $30 now.

I'm still interested in the RP, although I should warn you that I have almost no experience playing tabletop roleplaying games, so you'd have to be patient and explain a lot of stuff to me.

I haven't quite decided whether I want to join or not, mainly because I'm feeling like crap at the moment and I probably shouldn't make any dedication of time while I'm dead tired.

@Ginger: I think it's more the fact that she's shoving the cake into her mouth with her hoof rather than being pointlessly delicate and royal about it.

I think I might join, but if we do this, you'll have to fill us in on some of the things covered in the basic rules, but not the PDF.

Role playing a ponies? Let's see... you trot along the country side and see a large field of hay and daffodils. What do you do?

...yeah, I'm not much of a dungeon master.

Closest I've come was a Madoka Magica RP a year or so ago; but that didn't have any dice rolling. It was almost entirely character based.

Damn, that sucks. In that case, a homebrewed D20 system might be in order, if only because I'm most familiar with that type of system (if you guys want me in charge, that is).

@Kegi A lot of people expressed interest in doing a play-by-post pony tabletop RPG today, so we're trying to figure out what kind of system we can use before we try to put a group together.

Even though Celestia clearly has a more informal side, I think the lady-like way in which she eats cake is quite adorable

@Ginger: This. For say a 20 sided die, just set the generator to pick a number between 1 and 20.

Resort to using a D6 or diceless system, I assume.

@Islmer: I only spotted it because I was going through one of my Tumblr Followers pages and he commented on his 'uniform'. I mean I figured it was a military thing when I first saw it, his comment just got me curious enough to go a-lookin'.

@Lurker: Ah, that sounds pretty fun actually. How would we do it, though. It strikes me as being a bit hard to do an RPG without the benefit of meatspace.

@Jt: Mm, a random number generator is a close proxy to a dice, but most generators do have some identifiable pattern, unless they're really complex. I mean, they're still random enough, but it you want to be a purist about it...
