Macintosh just never speaks unless he needs to. He's a working horse, and never wastes a word or an action; every second he spends making conversation is a second he could have spent doing something. The times we see him just standing around is because there's nothing to do that needs doing.

Big Mac is pretty cool, I'd definitely like to see more of him next season. The fact that he's one of the main male ponies helps.

Reminds me of Ferb.

Big Mac is a source of calmness for all around him. If there were ever an emergency, and someone saw Big Mac, all panic would cease. Because they would know, if Big Mac is just standing around, it means he's already taken care of the problem.

You see: there is Doctor Whoof (10th Doctor), 3 regular background ponies (like 3 main companions Rose, Marta and Donna) and 2 ponies from one scene in series (like some temporaly companion from special DW episodes).

Derpy is only most know Pegasus. There are one likes Lighting Bolt or Raindrops.

That's fanbase fault that she only have many numbers of fanst. At least Wonder Bolst (especialy Spitfire and Soren), Shadowbolts and may even Pegasi Guards make up for it.

On the subject of genetics: I would say that whatever genes determine one's 'race', it can't be as simple as one Punnett square and TT, as it were, equalling alicorn, Tt pegasus, tT unicorn, et cetera. Until we know for sure that Dinky is Ditzy's daughter, we have nowhere near enough to go on.

^He's not making fun of you. All he said was that Ditzy was the only background pegasus with a real fan following. Nothing that could be construed as insulting, as far as I can see.
