I still think they could have dragged out Nightmare Moon some more; she was in one episode (okay, technically two) and she's all "I'm better now!"

They could have made her a recurring villain for the season and then cured her.

Yeah, but apparently they didn't want the show to be too heavy with continuity. And honestly I'd rather get more Luna than more Nightmare Moon. Not that we got either. Grumble.
