My Little Pony embracing girly stuff? Never!

@Bad My vortex manipulator allows me to go back in time and kill you as a baby! Beat that.

Personally it annoys me how negative people are about girlyness in general. Real Women Don't Wear Dresses is one of my hated tropes. Which is why I went for a decidedly girly protagonist of my novel.

[up][up]I destroyed the universe. Twice. Now I'm bored of doing it.

I just don't see the attraction; does Derpy really like these?

I agree with Rich. The sample pool is too small.

Again, Moe, it's going to be rather hard to convince anyone that anything is wrong when most of your evidence is in a subjective "track record" that no one else seems to agree with. Do you have any objective reasoning as to why you think the finale will fail?

Both two parters are ones of best episodes for me.
Because he know I'm going to go out in this plane and I'm going to remove one of His creations from His universe.

@ Purple: Yeah well my tree can randomly turn into a spaceship and randomly enter the time vortex to randomly go back in time and save Baby Badwolfwho. Then we'll team up and fight crime (but mostly Fancy Pants/Rarity Shippers).

I liked the two parters so far.

The Mare in the moon is the whole reason I continued watching the damn show. Its why I am a MLP fan in the first place.
Apocalypse: Dirge Of Swans.

Well, IMO, if most of the episodes of Season 2 are considered by you to be "subpar", then I would consider at least three-fifths of Season 1 to be subpar too.

@ Purple: But not if it's powered by some random woman to take off before the tree is cut down. (Seriously what was up with that Christmas Special. Made no sense.)

Blue: I agree. I used to push that trope hard, myself, but I think part of that was a backlash to the some of the more extreme portrayals of girliness (I've had a similar reaction to extreme macho-ism). I prefer to go by more of a "real girls/guys make their own damn decisions and don't listen to stereotypes" stance now.

[up][up] A Christmas Carol was better. In fact, it was damn near perfect.

You guys are coming off as pretty pushy towards Moe Dantes. It sounds like you're trying to tell him he's wrong, when his whole conclusion is drawn simply because of his own subjective opinion of the episodes. He considers so many episodes sub-par simply because he didn't enjoy them all that much. Arguing about it isn't going to change his mind on that.

First of all, dude, we're talking about an episode of a cartoon. There's no such thing as "objective reasoning" with regards to this subject.

Second, I'm not saying "it will fail, " I'm saying "it might fail."

That all being established, I'm not sure what more I need. I've seen trends, they point a certain way. My skepticism could well be proven wrong, and I hope it is, but like Yahtzee says, its generally healthier to go in with low expectations. If you expect something to be bad and it is, you're no worse off, but if you expect it to be bad and it turns out to be good then the joy is that much greater. I simply don't understand why people have a problem with that concept.

Eh, A Christmas Carol is good, but I'm partial to The Next Doctor. And The Christmas Invasion, Rachnoss were pretty good as well. Titanic was ridiculous, but in a good way.

This is probably why I ended up loving all the episodes this season that I thought I wouldn't care for.

Anyway, I understand you completely Dantes.

I prefer to go by more of a "real girls/guys make their own damn decisions and don't listen to stereotypes" stance now.

A good stance.

[up][up] I like Next Doctor too. But Voyage of the Damned is mean-spirited and awful.

I liked the weird Mood Whiplash in Voyage of the Damned. Not sure why, but it endeared it to me.

Why are we talking about DW in the pony thread?surprised

Anyway, Sylvester Mc Coy and Matt Smith are best Doctors. Fact.

Disagree. Christopher Eccleston and David Tennant are my favourite.

Though I haven't seen much of the original series.

@Moe I'm not attacking you. I'm honestly curious and looking for discussion. Objective was the wrong word to use, sorry. Even if it's all opinion, I would be nice to hear your reasoning backed up by examples and evidence rather than simply saying "I didn't like it" or something similar. I guess I'm just pushing too hard for a debate, and it's turning into an argument instead. Again, sorry.

I will be a William Hartnell, Tom Baker and Peter Davison fan for life.

Tennant and Smith have their place too though. I love their doctors... I just think their writing could use a little work.

I've got nothing against Matt Smith, but his series so far are just awful.

Gotta go, be back in about an hour maybe.
