It may just be me, but I'm thinking that Wing Power corresponds to the speed of a pegasus rather than is that speed. Like a weighed down pegasus exerting their wings just as much as an unladen one would have the same wing power, but different speeds.

Shouldn't wing power be relevant to the amount of air moved rather then the speed since it's measured by a pinwheel?

@L Mage My guess is that's just the standard way to measure it, but anemometers are used frequently enough in the pony world to measure it that they have a wingpower gauge on it to determine wingpower in ideal condtions.

Then again, wingpower could be how they measure wind speed, especially if wind wouldn't occur naturally in most parts of Equestria...

Yeah. My headcanon concerning Scootaloo's flight at this point is that she has a medical condition of some sort, but she'll grow out of it.

I think the little colt might have been there for moral support. I don't think we actually saw any young ponies actually helping with the tornado. It's also possible that if he did participate, it was because he was very talented for his age.

@JT Yeah, but he's standing in line with all of the other ponies before takeoff. Even if Rumble didn't participate, they still show him hovering a good ways off the ground in one shot, so he can definitely fly at least a little bit.
