Someone said Rainbow Dash was Greek. I can see it, so now I made it my head canon. But I think Twilight could be black, if only because it's boring to have everyone be white. Although a few of the Mane 6 I can only see as white (Fluttershy and Applejack), I think you can play around with the other characters' races.

Of course, even within the "white" demographic, you can still have a lot of variety. I completely see Applejack as having German roots, especially because a lot of German immigrants settled in central and west Texas where they became farmers.

That always makes me sad though. I'm a minority, so having everyone be white is hurtful. Of course, having minorities that are blatant stereotypes bothers me a heck of a lot more.

Yeah I tend to see Fluttershy and AJ as white, Rarity I could see being Jewish, RD either Greek or Hispanic, Twi like I said I see as being Indian, Pinkie.......whatever the hell she wanted to be.

I see Rarity as more East Asian. But I do quite enjoy diversity in cast (as long as it's not just to have diversity... ><) so I don't mind if people play around with their races when making humanizations.

Me too. She definitely has a lot of Japanese characteristics especially. Especially the whole Moe thing.

But, even as ponies, they probably have some sort of nationality. So Dash would be from Pony!Greece. Fluttershy from Pony! Japan for example.

I don't see any reason to add ethnicity for the sake of ethnicity, especially when the only thing you have to go off of when deciding things is stereotypes, which doesn't exactly help the goal of "we need to differentiate the mane cast to avoid racism." You can just add that to the pile of reasons I don't like humanizations, I guess...
