I've never understood shipping at all beyond the standard practice of - erm, nope, almost no exceptions here. I really do not get shipping.

I don't support people who say there's proof that the ship exists in canon. But it can be cute to ship, say, Appledash in fic.

They're voiced by the same freakin person anyway.

Oh I agree. I think fanon and crack ships can be very fun. But when they go out of their way to prove that" OMG IT R SUUU KANON", that's when I lose respect for them. Like Zutara

Yeah, I don't take any ships seriously, but that doesn't mean they can't be entertaining or Dawww worthy.

This is why I only ship background characters. No personality, and who gives a damn if there's evidence or not?

Honestly, I'm rather the opposite of most people here in that the Twixie ship is perhaps the only common one that doesn't make me retch. Appledash? Get that shit out of my sight. Twixie? Some of it's actually good. I'd even say some of it is really good.

It's kind of a matter of how it's handled more than anything, though.

Agreed that there is some mighty good Twixie out there. Balad of Twilight Sparkle was one of my first fics and is probably why I'm so fond of the ship.

Not a lot that I've seen. I think bronies tend to be rather defensive of her, plus she doesn't have any consistent interaction in the background like Lyra and Bon Bon.

I'm going to agree with Red Savant on the shipping thing; I like trying to pair various characters if only to see what they do in that situation. I like writing stuff like that because of the challenge factor; that sort of "how can I make this situation work while still being true to the spirit of the characters?" thing. But yeah, when people try to claim canon pairings that clearly aren't, it drives me crazy. I consider shipping a mainly Just for Fun thing.

And I also support Lyra and Bon Bon.

So anyway, what did I miss while I was gone? Any word on dvd's or season 2?

People claim it's Carrot Top, but the pony dubbed Carrot Top is usually seen with orange hair, so the only way that makes real sense is if it's chronologically the first episode in which she appears - and does she appear at all in the pilot?

The tropes page here say that it's Carrot Top and that her hair was changed to green for the sake of the joke.

I don't see any reason to assume that Trixie's magic would last for all that long; it could very well be Carrot Top. Though I thought she was supposed to have orange hair, for some reason.
