Orangtangs are exempt from insanity, why ponies shouldn't?

^I trust you mean the Librarian?

In any case, I really doubt Celestia would make Twilight and her friends handle a Cthuloid abomination in Equestria. She and Luna would have to go have a word with it personally.

You guys have it all wrong. When Eldritch Abomination see a pony it's cured from insanity or other wicked states of minds.

And more serious: yes Celestria could deal personality with real treat. I think she know that nopony from Mane Cast will be hurt any time when they are in danger in season 1.

They are like the others. Strange, hideous, resisting, fighting. Only these were not like the others. They did not die.

[up][up]Humanoids form are inferior to nonhumanoids. This is why only baby dragons stand on they backlegs, why ponies rule world and why even creatures with hand stand on them most of the time.

[up]I once saw discusion on Ponychan in tread about Tyranids vs Ponies that Chutulu will join figt on pony side and will defend them.

But...elder ones aren't humanoid. That's sort of the point.

And Nyarlathotep is humanoid. Sometimes.

[up]You mean Cthulhu?
Red Savant avatar

Occasionally, yes.

I'd always thought Cthulhu was usually portrayed as basically humanoid, too.

But those are artistic representations. It's impossible to accurately portray what they really look like. A creature that drives men mad to gaze upon it can't really be said to be anything-oid, I'd think.

Then where do the artists get the information necessary to do an artists interpretation then?

Most of the artistic depictions were by madmen, who aren't really known as reliable sources of information.

It's entirely likely that they just kind of made it up to give whatever Lovecraftian god-monster they worship some kind of iconic shape that they could be recognized by.

... What in the world? Okay, I just did a search for King of the Hill/Pony related stuff, and all I could find is this. (Warning: May cause Toht-face.) What is wrong with all of you?! This is only like the most obvious thing to do ever. Just look at this. And they do that literaly every episode! Heck, even Family Guy has parodied it, whereas we have a character who's only real line is "Yup" and there's nothing. How did we miss this!?

New and improved list of Fi M - Futurama characters

Twilight - Leela

Applejack - Hermes

Rainbow Dash - Bender

Fluttershy - Kiff

Pinkie Pie - Zoidberg

Rarity - Amy

Spike - Nibbler

Zapp Brannigan - Trixie

Gilda - Flexo

Princess Celestia - Mom (My favorite matchup)

Wonderbolts - Harlem Globetrotters

Scootaloo - Cubert

Sweetie Belle - Tinny Tim

Applebloom - Dwight

What I like about this list is that a lot of the characters that have relationships and connections with each other match up well with their counterparts, like Twilight/Leela with Trixie/Brannigan and Spike/Nibbler, or Applejack/Hermes with Applebloom/Dwight

(Also, I guess Fry and Farnsworth don't get anypony)

Well I didn't exactly say that they have the SAME type of connections, just that they are connected in some way

Oh oh, the Wonderbolts could also be the Harlem Globetrotters (because Bender was obsessed with joining them in the time skip episode)

Spitfire: Dash, you can talk trash, you can handle the skies, but look in your heart and ask yourself: Are you cool enough to be a Wonderbolt?

Dash: Yes!

Spitfire: Are you?

Dash: ...I mean, with time, my coolness level could get 20%...

Spitfire: ARE YOU?!

Dash: ...No...

Spitfire: Deal with it

Fluttershy definitely is, at least. Has tea with him every week, don'cha know?

It's funny - most ships just give me a sense of apathy or generic "yeah, that's cute" feeling.

This ship I actually dislike. Probably because I dislike Trixie and the pairing makes no sense.

Yeah, I don't like that pairing either. Or most of 'em.

But I do like Apple Shy x3

Also, I don't think a Lovecraftian monster would fit well into MLP Fi M. I understand that's kind of the point, but still, it'd just be... weird. I doubt anyone would recognize it as a threat (they LIVE in a world of supernatural creatures, but only "standard" ones so I doubt they have myths about Lovecraftian ones), and the story wouldn't go well unless the ponies somehow fought and defeated it in combat. really. If they went insane from it, that'd be slightly sad but mostly just cliche, if they befriended it that'd make NO FREAKING SENSE, and if they were killed by it that would only be sad.

I think even worse are fics where Trixie is some True Rival to Twilight, when it's really no contest as to who is better.

I've never really understood Twixie beyond the standard practice of shipping everyone who dislikes each other.
