I think most likely is, in order

Falshback/prequel to the Sisters defeating him the first time and/or the time of his rule.

Vision/image/hallucination/dream whatever version of him

He actually gets free again.

We also know that that "disturbing" scene is a different type of disturbing than stick figures getting a mammogram (and possibly than Spanish Barbie) and that it's a very touching scene.

The reference is in a 54 minute panel with John De Lancie. The only thing Pony related in it is that he says "I've actually done another My Little Pony which is coming out." He also tells about a time he thought he was going to be mugged by a scary looking guy who turned out to be a Q fan and apparently he isn't in Assassin's Creed 3.

Or maybe it's disturbing animation but a really touching speech? Like, maybe they're falling into a volcano but the characters learn to appreciate each other. And then Celestia swoops in and saves the day.
