I was merely saying that, if it was Pinkie who lead Gilda into all of those traps, and she did it for the purpose of getting revenge, then it still wasn't really the right thing to do. 2 wrongs don't make a right. As we all saw, it only made the situation worse

Why you idealise Gilda and demonise Pinkie (and other ponies)?

PP whanted only do prakts to her for fun (like at begining of episode), she instead face Gilda or get revenge on her for what she done she decided to confront her with fun. (And that not good way to deal with persons like Gidla)

Why you sugest that Ponies not Gilda should behave nicer ?

I didn't mean it seriously, i was just callling on the age old moral that doing something nasty to someone just because they doing something nasty to you isn't the correct way to fix a situation. I'm not idealising Gilda at all in this case, I'm saying that them pulling pranks on her (if indeed Pinkie was trying to do guide her into them, which I'm not sure she was) backfired hard, and only pissed Gilda off even more.

and I have a nasty habit of demonising Pinkie because she's by far my least favourite pony (not saying that there are moments when I don't love her though), and I idealise Gilda sometimes because she's my favourite antagonist. Sometimes I can't help my bias.

I know I've already questioned why Celestia needs guards to protect her, but now I'm wondering why she mainly seems to employ Pegasi to do that job. I know there are unicorn guards in the opening, but everytime we see them in the show, they're primarily pegasi. Wouldn't a unicorn be able to provide Celestia with the most protection? What with their powerful magic, telekinesis etc?

Same reason why in a typical fantasy setting, the royal highnesses are escorted by soldiers instead of wizards? Whatever that reason might be. I don't really know, actually.

If the princess rides in a chariot, theoretically a unicorn guard could do the same.

But they need somepony to pull it.

Celestia doesn't seem to fly anywhere though. She takes carriages.

So you're implying that Celestia uses pegasi because they can serve as both guards, AND as a method of transportation? that's plausible

She use them because that more easy and less problematic, nopony can travel that fast as pegasi.

The chariot-pullers aren't necessarily the princess' assigned escorts once on the ground. They may or may not be. Works either way.

Actually, unicorns in a flying chariot would be the pony equivalent of cavalry, wouldn't it? You get the mobility of the pegasi and the magical force of the unicorn, without the unicorn needing to exhaust themselves with a teleport spell so they can focus on dealing damage.

At least, in a darker setting with war and stuff.

Thinking about it, I guess she doesn't really NEED maximum protection (After all, she's GOD), just someone to keep any unwanted rabble away, and if her escorts can also double as guards then I guess it's good enough

She cares so much about her subjects that she allows the guards to travel with her so that they're protected.

Maybe there's a constant threat of war erupting between Equestria and the griffon realm (especially since Gilda became dissatisfied with the ponies), so most of the guards are pegasi, as it'll be easier for them to fight griffons on equal ground (or air).

Just saying.

For me Gilda is character who don't represent other griffins. I think she is even disliked by her kind.

Fact that Pegasi are less problematic to travel is simple explanation, no need to wank new teories.

Gilda is... one griffin. I don't think it's even possible to generalize from that.

That's my point.

BTW I prefer other creatures having hostile nation to Equestria. Like pingwins.
