@story to be fair. That topic went on long after I left too

I bet if there is a dragon emperor, it could go against Celestia.
I wonder how powerful Celestia/Luna are. Elements>Everything but Celestia/Luna by themselves<Discord.

Well, Celestia's not one to go all aggressive over those who (non)-violently oppose her. Remember, she's a firm believer of the power of friendship (and probably forgiveness too).

The Dragon Emperor gives you a choice, either you die of famine or he eats you if you get back on your feet (hooves?).

I kind of liked the letter scene. It shows that Celestia isn't all that important/known around the world.
Don't make me fire Pinky's party cannon.
In my head the Dragon Emperor is about as powerful as Celestia and Luna but more experienced since he's been around longer.
and in my head (fic) dragon culture revolves around the Royal Flame (the dragon equivalent of the EOH) which can only be wielded by the Royal dragon family...

Yeah, I was hoping we would learn more about dragon culture. But it just seems to be reaffirmation that dragons are jerks. But the episode itself was good, so I can't really complain ^^
I really liked the clubbed tail the brown fat dragon had.

I can't help but wonder why Spike and Twilight didn't go ask Celestia about where he came from. I think Twi is still really awkward around her, even though it's obvious Cel would like them to be casual and open together.

Do you think Mace is a good name?

I was actually surprised how decent the Dragon kids were. They did some light hazing to Spike, sure, but then they legitimately welcomed into their group and treated him good. Until he turned against them when they wanted to break the egg.
@Mio actually, in my head the Dragon Emperor body hops into his son's body whenever his current body wears out to keep himself from dying

Yeah... I for one thought some of it was pretty heartwarming

Actually, I thought the dragon teens were okay at first, since they seemed to warm up to Spike while doing generally benign hazing. The end where they want to crush the eggs only for pleasure bothered me. I just wanted to learn more about dragons. Although the weird character designs were really fun ^^
