I've thought about today's episode for a while, and I must say, it is up there as one of my favorite episodes. I like it because it expanded on Spike's character a lot, it gave us an idea of dragon culture, and it opened up possibilities of other non-Equestrian cultures.
Don't make me fire Pinky's party cannon.

Wasn't there more than one mountain/volcano?
Also, there was almost certainly more than one group of dragons in the volcano. After all, where was Crackle?

Hahaha, yess, a volcano for each social group like that.

What's the worst that could happen anyways?
@ colinispower: Not to mention it gave us lots of awesome avatar options.

Am I the only one who thought that everything from the belly flop to right after the party was genuinely heartwarming?

Nope. I didn't think it was
all good, but there was a lot of actual male bonding going on there.

Wow, I didn't even notice that your avatar was from the new episode until you pointed it out. It reminds me a lot of the Arizona state flag.

Another thing; it killed two birds with one stone. I got a Spike expansion episode and an Equestrian world expansion episode all in one episode.
@gingerninja: I thought so too. To see Spike accepted as part of the group felt nice.

What would have happened if the dragons ate the chick-lets? Since they are phoenixes, wouldn't they just come back to life?

Yeah, I didn't really think they needed to have the dragon teens do that.
They didn't need to be THAT evil

I thought they were just going to kidnap the eggs, as a prank...
Ergo, bellyflopping onto liquid rock...
He lives with pony that regularly smashes into actual rock at high speed.
I thought they would eat the eggs too.

@ crowlover: There's a brook near me where the herring run. There are always the little shits who think it's fun to smash them on the rocks.

@story Compared to how wimpy he was earlier, it probably seemed a lot more impressive.
Actually, those were phoenixes. Were those eggs in any real danger?
If they smashed them, wouldn't they just reform?
This is my headcanon. No way can I believe that those dragons were THAT evil

Or maybe the teens have never tried falling from that high, so they assume it would've hurt a lot more than it really did

Wait, people catch fish, just to throw them on rocks? WTF?

@story Otherwise they'll never evolve into Gyrados.
@crow Why would you want anything other than a Gyrados?
