I'm guessing my accent is somewhat "Miamian" due to the massive Cuban population we got down here in S. Florida, and being hispanic myself.

I don't speak very fast though. I do say "meng" every now and then.

My accent is strange and mangled. It sounds 'American' to me, but one guy thought I was from the Philippines.

I honestly don't know what it is. It's not a typical 'Malaysian' accent.

Oh, we talking accents? I kind of had a stereotypical southern accent growing up, although it has toned down, mostly because I forced it to.

Also, is it possible to subliminally give yourself a new accent? One of my old friends tried that with a British accent, but it didn't work.

Movie!Moriarty is a more traditional Chessmaster type villain, who likes to hang back and order his minions to do stuff for him, while TV!Moriarty is more energized and nutty, liking to leap into the fray himself whenever he can. Personally, I think they both work in different ways

Polish accents sound a bit Russian to English speakers.

I have a North Eastern Irish accent. Namely, the west Belfast accent...though my friends say I sound more like I'm from further north.

I don't think I've ever really discussed accents with my friends. I have NO IDEA what I sound like!

That's not surprising.

Without constant exposure, people are libel to lump a lot of "similar" sounding accents together even if to someone native to the region they sound quite different.

EDIT: I was once told that I have no identifiable accent. The truth is I just confused people by not having a stereotypical Miamian accent, I'm more then certain that I have a floridaian accent which sounds like a slight mix of midwest and west coast, among other things.

As far as accents go, I have a Singlish accent that some travellers mistake as an Indonesian accent.

I like to think my accent is a multicultural beast that rojaks a lot of different speech patterns from the various cultures Singapore enjoys, albeit I manage to avoid the dreaded L-R language problem some Chinese and Japanese people have trouble with.
