is my absolute favorite Japanese dialect of all time - an old-style Kyoto-ben. I can say with absolute certainty that if I met a girl who spoke like this in modern Kyoto, it would go a long, long way to forgiving any other flaws she had. =D

@Ace: Perhaps initially, but if it gets bad enough they might feel terrible after all. Despite there being only eight at a time, there seems to be more students then that. Maybe we will actually see them fleshed out via the gossip?

I just have a standard american accent, I think. Some people claim that my state has a unique accent, but I've never heard a difference between myself and say, people from Wachington DC. And nobody's ever told me that I have an accent.

@ Crowlover: Nah, I'm Jello Belt. About half of the stuff in the entry applies to me, like dropping "t's" but the heavy cowboy elements are almost non-existant, like "Sundee."

@CDRW: Where are you from? I'm from the mountainous part of Massachusetts, but my accent isn't really Appalachian - I pick up bits and pieces from other accents all the time.

I'm from Utah. Grew up half my life in Salt Lake City, and the other half out in the boonies. (Coal-mining and cattle-ranching area. Nobody's ever beaten me at the "my town is smaller than your town" game.

) It may just be that I'm bad at picking up on accents though, because I don't notice much difference between my speech and people from Alberta either.

That is one hell of a strange mix.

Hi all the magnificent people.

If we're talking about accents mine is predominantly south african with a bit of canadian but its been mistaken for RP in London and australian but then that's before I tell them what it is.

It makes for good conversation at parties.
