I've always wanted to do a mad scientist pony. They could be a Pegasus who uses lightning to power their devices?

Can't say I've ever read any of the Oz books but do emember an english translation of an Oz anime being broadcats in the 80's. It blew my mind how much more stuff there was in there that wasn't in the film. It even kept going after the conclusion of the first book and covered several others and we're done talking about Oz now aren't we? This is why I don't usually post in this thread. It's impossible to keep up to date and as soon as you a see a topic you'd like to talk about everypony has already forgotten about it.

Applelight: I considered that, but that's kind of generic. I was thinking my folklorist would be something of a Charles Fort figure.

Yea but a pocket knife to me symbolizes survivalist. It has multiple tools to use to stay alive.

Its like the #1 thing that you put in a survival kit along with matches, a torch, and jugs of water.

Mad Scientist names. ... Firstly, are they villainous or misunderstood? Also, do you want their names to make it obvious they are touched in the head?

Drenius - For the folklorist maybe a quill pen and paper? Maybe some music notes too since folklore can be musical.

While we're doing 2-parter twist guesses

1) Candence is already with-foil but it's a secret! Twilight finds out and it is a mad dash to the altar before baby comes! (not sure the censors would be okay with this one though...)

2) Candence/Shining Armour have problems with a corrupt advisor planning some kind of kidnapping/murder attempt before the happy day, whom plans to impersonate one of the two in the process. It's up to the mane 6 to uncover the ruse!

3) Twilight disovers a law of ponyville that makes the wedding unable to go ahead, she freaks out - Celestia turns up and gives the union her blessing anyway and everyone enjoys the wedding

HM. Maybe a combination of both? The problem is that folklore isn't just words or music. It is patterns, behavior, and ritual as well.

@Drenius Ah, ok. I'm not great at O Cs. The only one I've helped out with is Gold Dust, who was an Appleoosan pony that adopted a Diamond Dog. The Pony fanon thread took over on that one, though.
