One thing I noticed: Applejack doesn't seem to have a talent all her own that distinguishes her from the Mane Cast. She's good at Apple harvesting, but Twilight's much better. She's an amazing athlete, but Rainbow Dash is at least on her level if not better. It just bugs me that she doesn't appear to have a unique speciality

She's definitely Badass Normal. Just not Badass Normal enough to make up for her lack of special abilities

Hell, the only way she could compete with RD was to intentionally HANDICAP the pegasus

and when compared to her fellow earth pony she's pathetic. Pinkie's a borderline Mary Sue at this point.

She's a better baker than Pinkie is apparently, at least when she isn't sleep deprived. She turned a bunch of random apple treats into a cake in no time at all. She also has herding skills that the other ponies don't. But yeah, it always bugged me that they showed Twilight harvesting like fifty trees with no visible effort.

Applejack probably has endurance on her side, and that's hard to show - Dash was exhausted after dragging Pinkie all the way to the barn, but Applejack did something similar with Fluttershy, uphill, and if I remember correctly, didn't seem all that tired.

Her strength is also something that doesn't seem consistant. She was able to break that Hammer-Bell-thingy event during the iron pony competition effortlessly, yet lost to RD at Hoof wrestling

Well her back legs would be stronger, since she's always using them to harvest apples. It is a little weird though that Rainbow Dash is as strong as she is. You'd think flying everywhere would make your legs less strong than an earth pony's.

RD and AJ were equal in hoofwrestling first time, after that Rainbow propably trained hard in that.

AJ is not that less talented , she is great at all Cowboy stuff, Twilight maibe beat her at colecting apples but she could never grow them. Applejack maybe don't have some thing special like Rainboow, Stare or Doctor Manehatan power but she is not alone in that, Rarity also don't have anything special for unicorn. And Pinkie "Mary Sue" only work when Rule of Funny is presented.

They are like the others. Strange, hideous, resisting, fighting. Only these were not like the others. They did not die.

Rarity has some of the finest Telekinesis in the entire show, and her talent is the whole fashion thing

Actually, Applejack might be a bit of The Mario. She's pretty talented in a lot of areas, and in Applebuck Season just about everypony was glad to have her help with whatever they were doing.

We still don't know how far do her powers go. Maybe she is capable of being much more precise than Twilight when it comes to telekinesis and gem-finding, but she never showed much more than that.

We don't see much of Unicorn Telekinesis but we saw better in that , like Twilight or Trixie.

And telekinesis is standard unicorn power, even if Rarity have really good one, AJ also is good at earth pony powers. Just like fashion talent AJ her apple related talents.

Rarity telekinesis may not work on every object and it not give her advantije over AJ in pillow fight.

And don't say that Rarity power is more precise thant TS, Twilight could milk cows, use grass to make music what can put in sleep giant bear and levitate this this asleep bear back to it cave.

Rarity could control her everything in her store simultaneously, and do intricate things like sewing, cutting and ironing at the same time aswell.

It's just that AJ's apple related talents haven't been focused on enough for us to make accurate assumptions about them. Rarity's fashion skills, Twilight's raw magic skill, RD's flying, Pinkie's Reality warping and Fluttershy's beastmaster stare are all undeniable and have had episodes fleshing them out

The thing is, there's more to apple farming than just the harvesting process. Chances are that Applejack knows way more about the raising process as a whole than Twilight does. We just only see that last part, so like ginger said, we don't really know the full scope of Applejack's abilities.

Also noting that I'm going to be on vacation at the beach next week, so I will almost certainly not be posting after Saturday.

Funny how many different fandoms intersect with ponies. There's the imageboard crowd who finds it fun to mess with people with pony pics, there's musical theatre nerds who are desperate for any show with songs in it that isn't Glee, there's people who would otherwise be in the Sonic fandom, and there's also a contingent of Dr. Who fans.
