I can't imagine the wonderbolts hiring an asshole (they seem far too nice) and if RD is competing with another pony who's genuinely pleasant, then there may be problems with us deciding who to root for.

Unless the other Pegasus IS more deserving of the spot, and the ep is instead about RD learning to give up her dreams for the moment because it's ultimately the right thing to do or something?

@Jack: No, I just meant I was waiting to see if anyone else would reply to you - just to get a feel for how many of us are left or active, you know? New players don't seem to intimidate people at all.

That could be a good idea in and of itself - The pegasus Dash is competing with is nice, and better than her - so the rest of the cast is torn between rooting for their friend, or the obviously better choice.

Well she won't be able to actually win the competition, since she's contractually not allowed to join the wonderbolts... ever. (Thanks Hasbro, you and your order to make the episodes as viewable in any order as possible is truly a delight to us continuity lovers)

Despite the fact that a linear timeline is impossible because it would mean the first season lasts two years.

^^I really hope they make the second season at least generally 'after the Gala'.

^Two years? It might be a busy spring for the ponies, but it's possible to cram everything into one year.

Yeah it doesn't have to be a jerk, just someome as competitive as Rainbow Dash. I can't see RD actually getting the spot anyway since that would take her away from the rest of the cast.

Not so. It goes from spring/summer, to winter, to spring, to fall, to spring/summer again. Two years.

Note that I was referring to a linear order being impossible. As in, the timeline could not plausibly follow a 1:1 progression through each episode, despite the fact that little things like Fluttershy remembering Pinkie Pie's "Hop, Skip, and a Jump" imply such.

Is there a general concensus on any order the episodes might take place in?

We can't forget, there sometimes seem to be call forewards.

A few people have tried to puzzle out the order, but there's no real consensus, I don't think.

Maybe the seasons work differently? Or they just want to make us brain-hurt?

I whant real villains in season 2, not just slice of life antagonist.

As for retuning character I whant to see Trixie againt but not as antagonist but something else (like rival), she wasn't that much antagonist in her episode anyway.

And Gilda, now I whant see her again, but not redemption, somethign what take her far from redemtion, like RD trying to sort thing out with her but she showed how unlikinable she is and finally tries to bully more ponies (again pick on Fluttershy or maybe Scootaloo) what could cause great anger in Rainbow (I always wonder what would chapen if she sawed what Gilda did to Flutershy).

And stop calling Luna villain/antagonist, it was Nightmare Moon, not Luna.

Well, the CMC episodes (not counting episode 23) clearly happened in the order they were shown, since the group met in one, then established their identity, then acted under that identity.

I have a tentative timeline worked out for some of the episodes. I'll post it in a bit.

The weren't two different people. Luna WAS Nightmare Moon, and differentiating the two like that only belittles how much Luna did on her own.

Also, the show is at it's best as a Slice of Life piece, and I like the minor threats they have to face and overcome to keep their friendship intact.

and bringing Gilda back JUST to make her even more of a bitch is pathetic and spiteful. I don't mind if she doesn't return at all, but everyone already knows that she's a bitch, no need to reinforce it even more

Show Stoppers was the third CMC episode. The second was Stare Master.

Stare Master, where they stayed with Fluttershy.
