I'd suggest a city known for horse tracks and gambling. Though I suppose Vegas could have a horse track, it has a race track.

I've mentioned this before, but a bitchy fashion model would be a good antagonist for Rarity.

Hmm...maybe we find someone who comes in and is better than one of the cast at their special talent? Like, a more skilled unicorn than Twilight. Or maybe Applejack gets into a bucking contest with Big Mac(who just continues to be exasperated the whole way through), and the cast member just starts going crazy.

The morla could be something along the lines of, "you don't have to be the best at something, as long as you enjoy it." Not a friendship moral, per se, but still a good lesson.

Pride and, to a lesser extent, unwillingness to compromise have been the character traits this show's taken aim at most often, aren't they? Trixie and Gilda are both obvious examples, but Nightmare Moon was created by Luna's desire to be appreciated perverted into megalomania by whatever the WOG'd dark force was, and even "Applebuck Season" deals with Applejack's stubbornness and overconfidence.

Sins that apply to the antagonists:

• Sloth: The Dragon in Dragonshy?
• Gluttony: The Diamond Dogs, Prince Blueblood?
• Envy: Gilda, Luna

I'm hoping that for the second season finale, there is some sort of giant humanoid abomination, and at the end is turned into a regular pony. He then bluescreens for a bit, before hardcore raging at the ponies. Celestia decides to punish him by making him her personal aide. In season 3 he shows up periodically, acting like a slightly toned down Karkat towards everyone, and generally being as snarky and cynical as he can without angering the princess.

Just looking at the first letters? Try looking for rhymes instead.

I feel like Trixie is really the best unicorn antagonist they could bring in, and if they need an antagonist for Twilight they should bring her back. She's fun to watch, she walks that fine line where she's, y'know, a little bit of a bitch but not unlikable for it, and she has that sheer pride that makes me believe that she'd be set on proving she's better than Twilight.

They've dealt with Envy, too - in Green isn't your colour, of course. They could do another one with that, but I think it would benefit them to bring in antagonists around other vices. Greed is always a good lesson for kids, as could be a temper thing...

That actually is a good idea. I know a lot of the older fans want to see Trixie redeemed, and having her the recipient of a lesson might be good. It's good for the kiddies, too.

Actually, something's just occured to me. Twilight's flaming hair isn't just a visual gag. It happens in universe. It's singes her. How the heck does it work? You could call it a magical reflex, and that would make sense if it was when she was angry, but it happens when she drinks the hot sauce as well.

Hum...Sweetie Bell's version was a lot of fun, but if I were to choose one to actually sing me to sleep, definitely Fluttershy's.

How about another pegasus who wants to be a Wonderbolt? There could be an opening on the team that RD has to compete for.
