I remember once downloading that Ponyville map for Minecraft and arbitrarily renaming everything in French.

It’s highly probable that Satan has chosen [Lauren] Faust to be his modern-day emissary of evil. The signs are clear.

@Jt

I have heard that paying all the VA for ensemble episodes would be expensive. But that kind of episodes are among my favorites :)

Just a Face and a Caption.

@Psi: Oh, I'm well aware that the episode has potential to be awesome, and that they totally could develop Spike's relationships with the other characters (the summaries have never been a good indicator of quality, I thought "Sweet and Elite" was going to suck based on the summary), it's just that it's hard to get hyped about it when it'll probably more world building. Which is okay, but I prefer character interaction.

[up]Maybe I'm not too bothered since Spike isn't low on depth in character interaction at this point anyway (though I agree there could be more). Actually one of the things I would like to see more Spike playing a more physical part in the story like this episode suggests. Heck maybe give him an actionized role (his surprisingly badass fighting against the Diamond Dogs seemed like a cruel tease).

Alternatively I'd like to see him don his Dastardly Whiplash persona again, though maybe that's for a later story.grin

I'm wondering what Spike's reason for leaving will be, what the trigger for it is, and how it'll be presented in the ep

That's what's interesting me the most

Sometimes I wish the episodes were longer.

[up] And they were already expanded from the intended Two Shorts formula planned early on.

Wait, what two shorts formula?

Two Shorts. Common format for kids shows. Rather than one 22 minute episode you have have two shorter self-contained episodes per time slot.

[up][up]I thought the original plan was for the show to be a two mini episode formula before Executive Meddling said otherwise.

It's a good thing they didn't do that.

[up][up][up][up]I remember one of the G1 cartoons was done as a two shorts formula. It included some other hasbro product based shows.

[up][up]I didn't know that. I'm glad for Executive Meddling there.

@storyyeller In the planning stage, the original idea was to have each episode divided into 2 11-minute shorts rather than a single 22-minute segment.

[up]It does happen.

In fact it has happened quite a bit on this show.

[up]Good Executive Meddling isn't as rare as people believe it is. Many believe cartoons like The Ren & Stimpy Show and Family Guy were better when executives had a tighter grip of what could and couldn't do. In some cases, like Thomas the Tank Engine it actually helps establish an entire universe.

Well I think changing Applebuck Season to bucking was a good move.

I didn't mean to say that like I was surprised at the existence of good Executive Meddling (I'm one of the few people who actually see these massive corperations as being run by human beings) [lol]

Anyway, I guess it's time for the usual nightly slowdown of the thread. Hopefully it won't just fall off a cliff like last time.

[up]Applebuck Season's original story didn't bug me that much, the idea of her being concussed seemed to make more sense given some of the side effects she had. Not to mention the whole point of the story was to show butting a tree with your head was dangerous anyway, so why should they fear kids immitating it?

That's not to say the final story sucked at all, I liked the episode a lot, I'm just meh either way.
storyyeller avatar
#122099 from Appleloosa
But if it were dangerous, why would she do it every year?

Well to get on a new topic. Do you guys think that "Tartarus" will have any significance later, or is it just a throw away reference?

[up]And if she did it every year, why does it cause a problem now?
