Personally I'm not a fan of the Lol Random Magical Diseases episodes.

Anyway, I liked that Seraphem brought up The Cable Guy because it reminded me that what I dislike about Pinkie Pie isn't her sense of humor, but the way she's been the subject of Why Do You Hate The Dog? episodes, more than once.

Someone should od a parody of the Boom Deyada song like that.

It was a strange asspull, but at least it was a somewhat creative one. I also kinda liked it for developing Spike a bit as a character (eg. his crush and bond with Rarity, his adorable childlike excitment over his birthday), it had such lovely character interaction even outside the cliche plot.

@Bag Of Magic Food: I tend to hate Why Do You Hate The Dog? plots if they are taken too far and the sufferer is made to pay just for not letting some destructive idiot ruin his entire life (eg. later Spongebob episodes with Squidward). I never really thought Pinkie's antics ever went that far however. Either she learns a lesson about going too far (eg. A Friend In Deed) or her behaviour is light and has redeeming aspects that make it more tolerable (eg. the start of Griffon The Brush Off).

Seems more like something FS would say.

Hopefully the good record this season has had with continuity will continue and the information learned about dragons from Secret of My Excess will be incorporated into the "Dragon Quest" episode, or at least not outright contradicted. It's not too likely there would be something that contradicts an earlier story like that, though.

For what is that an acronym?

Well it's either Secret Of My Excess or some other misunderstood expression.

For some reason I like the idea of an episode where Twilight's Big Sis instinct really rises up and gets worried over him, there have already been some episodes like this but they are kinda downplayed due to being more the efforts of another character when it really heats up (eg. Secret Of My Excess, Owls Well That Ends Well). I sorta liked Lesson Zero for this reason, with it showing how Spike is looking out for Twilight and concerned about her behaviour, added a fair bit of depth to their bond (and his embarrassed hug at the end was adorable).

I guess it would be an interesting twist in Twilight's character. She's never been like that before.

seriously, mental alteration has always been something that's terrified/fascinated me.

That's why Cutie Pox scares me and Dragon Puberty fascinates me

Speaking of which, it's a shame that my suggestion of Fluttershy and the Manticore for the page image wasn't supported.

I gotta be honest, the summary doesn't exactly make me positively inclined towards the Spike episode. I want them to explore his relationship to the rest of the cast, not isolate him and put him with a bunch of new characters that we're never going to see again.

It's a good example, but a kid riding a dinosaur is just too awesome to pass up on.

To be fair, there are ways of developing the relationship of two characters by separating them from each other. Makes me wonder how the others will feel about him leaving. Not to they the episode will go into such depth, but it will be interesting to see how this all plays out.
