@ginger: when a boss slams you into the ground a dozen times in a row, come back and tell me he's incompetent.
Video game stories are weird compared to most, because it involves a human analogue. The creator can no longer control all that happens; instead they need to try to force thing. That leads to some... odd genre conventions, at times.
But a lot of games do have good, solid antagonists.

Finding average in my MLP pissed me off immensely. If I want average, I'll go watch The Big Bang Theory or similar relaxing drivel. I hold MLP to a higher standard.

I recently played Bulletstorm. The antagonist in that is a hilarious asshole named Sarrano (who I notice shares a few similarities with General Quake from my fanfic...).
The final battle with him is a bullshit QTE, though.

I think the problem with Bioshock was that it was twice as long as it should have been. The encounter with Andrew Ryan was the real ending as far as tension goes.

Didn't get all that far in Bioshock. Got a new computer (that can actually run all this crap) so I'll need to reinstall it. I got to the part where you start being able to craft ammo and stuff.
