@Ginger: Yeah, and even after they get rid of him you can see him in the background throughout the rest of the episode, setting Ponyville in flames. It was pretty metal.

[down] Wow, people are dicks.

I believe I am missing something here, what's Endless Eight?

A controversial arc in the second season of Haruhi Suzumiya. The same episode, depicting the SOS Brigade's summer vacation, is repeated, with different clothes and angles (so new animation every time) eight times. Eight. Times.

The point is that the crew is trapped in a recursive time loop of those same weeks, and it occurs untold thousands of times without anyone except the robot-alien girl knowing what's going on before they break the loop. In fact, the alien girl knowing those countless loops causes her to go kinda nuts later on.

The problem is, the audience had to go through all eight of those episodes, each time hoping for, you know, a new episode in this new season. The audience went into revolt, the animators nearly did the same, and it turns out that the creator of the series had told the anime crew to only devote one or two episodes to that arc.
I have a message from another time...

for the love of.

Superior, how many times do we need to go over this, stop giving a fuck what one or two random trolls on the internet say. Most of them are only saying what they think will piss you off the most.

[up][up]What he said. No matter what you enjoy there's somebody out there who's going to call you an idiot for liking it, so you're best off just ignoring them all.

@Enlong I could see what they were TRYING to do. They were trying to make us feel a little of what Yuki must've been feeling.

but yeah, they probably overdid it a bit

Before I slumber, I'll say again: If they're making a more conscious effort to rein Pinkie's hyper-ness in, I'm all for it. I like Pinkie, but she must be carefully done. This episode struck the right balance.

@Enlong: ....well that's......shit, I don't know what to call that.

Is this getting compared to just one scene getting repeated in the new episode?

I'm surprise Tartarus was called "Tartarus" instead of Trotterus.

If they are trying to pun names, why stop on certain ones.
Bunai is known to make spelling and grammar errors, but will attempt to correct them once realized.

Oh, I understand what was goin' on there, and I think that it was an interesting concept that just didn't pan out well. Actually, I've never gotten around to seeing Endless Eight myself, and I'm told that I really shouldn't. My college's anime club is watching Haruhi, and my roommate edited downt he episodes immensely into a movie-like thing that they could watch in one week's worth of meetings instead of two. And even then, they found it overly repetitive. I'm not sure if I'll get around to watching itmyself.

@Blue: So lemme get this straight... You hate the WHOLE EPISODE because of one gag bit that everyone else thought was a minor flaw!?
