@ginger: There are varying personality traits people focus on specifically, both negative and positive. If the negative ones stand out more than the positive in their opinion, they are likely not going to like them. And even then where these traits are placed means nothing if they don't find them entertaining, which COMPLETELY varies from person to person.

The trope Base Breaker comes into play a lot here.

I tend to find a lot of Nice Guy characters in some medias my least favorite anyway, since they often end up bland (or even have their own flawed moments handwaved) so morality isn't always the problem. I'm liking all six ponies so far however since they have at least some fair mix of good and bad, as well as making them all kinda funny and charming.

I just like all the Mane Six, they're all so pleasant and nice compared to a lot of jerks you see in other shows D: And when I say jerks I don't mean the kind of people Ginger likes watching, I mean genuinely unpleasent entities like the ones you see in Drawn Together, who are clearly rejects who never made it big in the industry

ABSOLUTELY NOTHING.

Rainbow Dash isn't nearly as ambiguous in her motivations and inner character the other ponies.

Her priorities pretty much go like this:

1) Her friends

2) Her ego

3) Everything else

Combine that with the fact that she is probably the least intelligent of the mane 6 and you have a character that is very easy for people to completely ignore any one side of, Flanderizing her in their minds. She either becomes the most awesomely badass thing since Kamina, or she becomes an insufferable jerk. Most people seem to ignore the middle ground.

I never really saw RD as a bad person (err, pony), A bit egotistical perhaps, but she definitely cares for others. For the most part, she puts her friends needs in front of hers. I can;t dislike a person or pony who is like that.
