Makes me wonder why the necroponies didn't bother disposing of the skeleton. I mean they clearly took steps to keep ponies out of Ruby's house (the door was locked, the key was down a well and the crank for the well was missing) Why not go the extra mile and throw the skeleton away instead? Then their charade would never be uncovered

I wonder if it's because of the cyclical nature of their plight. The village seems to reset to what it looked like on that day, so perhaps on the day of the festival, they had already murdered Ruby and in order to completely ignore the wrong they had done, they disposed of the key the way they did because they thought it was good enough for no pony to find it. So when the village resets, the events just repeat over and over with them having learned nothing (as indicated by the one zombie who lets Apple Bloom escape.

Yeah. Part of me wishes they'd make the game canon. Only a small part however, since it would probably be even more of a Mood Whiplash in the actual show.

They wouldn't have to actually show it to make the game cannon. They could just put a subtle reference in or something.

I like my MLP angst free thank you very much. And I liked the game. I just don't want it to be canon. Make it an AU and call it a day.

You mean include a sign in the background that says "To (whatever the name of the town in Sot B is) when the ponies enter the Everfree forest or something?

It really is a good game. Short though (about 10 minutes), guess that's just anoter reason to play it, it won't take long.

All I mean is that the game is a bit too dark to fit comfortably in canon. The game itself is very well done, though.

I love this show, but is it weird that I think it's weird that The Hub is re-running it as much as they are?

There's 26 episodes, and that frequency will probably exhaust them quickly.

A little bit of angst is fine, like as much as was in Gurren Lagann. But levels on par with, for example, Neon Genesis Evangelion or even Fullmetal Alchemist would be WAY too much for the show.

(I'm not dogging on any of those three shows, by the way. I adore all of them.)

How about something like Avatar:TLA? That's a bit darker than MLP but it's still a kid's show.

I don't hate angst as a matter of fact; I think it just works better in some shows than others. Case in point, Madoka Magica was one of my favorite shows this year. I just think that MLP thrives on its optimism and I would hate for it to lose that; it's one of the few shows out there that manages to have actual conflicts while still maintaining a light tone throughout.
