I checked Wiktionary. It gives both /ˈɡɪɡə/ and /ˈdʒɪɡə/ as possible United States pronunciations for giga-. (First one is the way we've been pronouncing it, second is the way Doc Brown pronounced it.)

@Mio Spike stops being a character partway through Secret Of My Excess. Twi's struggle to keep him under control and her reaction to his condition is the second most compelling part of the ep in my opinion

Pegagus was just one character, and in MLP there are several pegasi. Same for the Minotaur, Ursa Minor and other example here and there. Is there a trope for that? Something like pluralization of proper names?

I'd say the plural form ultimately depends on the language of origin. (Minotaur's a bit hard because we cut off the ending when it got transferred to English...)

Only Flutershy had problem accepting Luna (we don't know about Rarity), Pinkie and Rainbow just have holiday fun.

It'd be so nice if I could talk about Luna Eclipsed without someone attempting to justify Pinkie. Yes, I know why she did it. It doesn't mean I have to like it. -_-

I really don't see how anyone can really justify Pinkie's actions. You would probably have an easier time justifying Dash's actions, but the episode certainly didn't think so.
