My grandparents just had lots of kids over a 23 year period. Point is...when you're two decades older than your siblings...you come across as more of an aunt/uncle...for all we know, SA could have been in middle school by the time Twi joined her school.

apperences have been? We've known about them for ages

The only new information is that he might be Twilight's brother and since there aren't any other Shining Armours we have to assume it's the one getting royally married.
