My question is just why bake the apple? You'd think a whole apple is easier to throw and has more stopping power.

I found the episode to be so-so. I don't particularly enjoy how the episode kinda resolves itself. I mean, what did our Mane character contribute in the end of things? I guess Pinkie advanced the plot by making everyone want to go to war... It had it's funny moments for sure, but not one of their bests so far.

I don't get that article. Why didn't Twilight just evolve into Rapidash like she did in that one episode?

In many ways, our heroes made matters worse. Rainbow Dash did befriend the buffalo and take up their cause, but goaded on Applejack when she picked up the Conflict Ball. Applejack, of course, decided she'd speak for her cousin rather than let him talk to Little Strongheart, because she was so worried about Bloomburg. And Pinkie... bless her heart, she's so used to her songs fixing things that she just had to jump in and try again at noon, pushing them over the edge...

I did wonder, however, why exactly Rarity came along in the first place. She didn't seem all that thrilled about the trip. I guess Applejack just invited the whole Cast Herd along, but Rarity, Fluttershy and even Twilight came off as unnecessary here. I guess they needed Twilight to explain Spike's presence, but still... was he really needed? Couldn't Rainbow Dash have tried to save Bloomburg anyway? Especially since it was clear she was taking her defeat by Little Strongheart really personally...

Heck, maybe they could've staged it with Rainbow getting hurt and left behind by the train rushing off, Strongheart noticing and convincing the chief that they should nurse her back to health.

...By the way, what exactly was her cousin's name? Was it a reference I just didn't understand?

Thanks, Sand Josieph and Ghilz. I figured it might be some apple reference, but I wasn't sure just from hearing it how it was spelled.

...Boy, looking at that article, it's no wonder the Apple Clan is so huge. Wonder how many of those will show up as named relatives? Though I suppose the Summer and Winter Rambos won't have much chance of showing up... or the Spartan. Cameo would probably get a small role...

I don't know why I'm so amused at how many different apple variations there are simply because of all the potential Apple Clan relatives. Just going off the names, it almost looks like there could be a whole branch of her family that's all Russets. And some of the names sound like dead shoe-ins for pony names, like Ginger Gold, Honeycrisp and Pink Pearl. Though I'd really like to see the one named Foxwhelp.

...Don't know how they'd include names like Ben Davis or James Grieve, though.

Oh, I'm sure they could find a way.

Though honestly, given how many different apples there are, they might not even need to worry about it.

I have to ask, why are all of them cousins? Why not aunts or uncles or second cousins once removed or assorted in-laws or other relatives?

Is it just me, or does Little Strongheart's voice sound a bit like Rainbow Dash's?

I don't know if this has been posted yet, but Rebbecca Black's Friday just became a whole lot more awesome.◊

That episode was pretty damn hilarious. Pretty weak on the plot side, though. My idea was, uh, there's no other place with flat land, the buffalos are super-powered stampeding forces – just make them stampede over there and have them flatten the ground for you.

Jokes were amazing, though. Brohoof was the best. And I loved the conversation about Fluttershy being a tree.

... And I miss Masterlinkx. I'm not so broken up over the loss in visual quality, but the worsened audio quality makes it harder to appreciate the voice work and for me to even understand some of the lines.
