All things considered, MMDW is freaking hilarious if you take off your THE CHARACTERS ARE BEING TOTAL ASSHOLES goggles. But it doesn't feel like FIM, which is why a lot of people dislike it.

Generally the estrus cycle begins whe na species is sexually mature, but the definition of sexually mature and mentally mature may not link up. I don't think it would be terrible to assume that estrus doesn't begin until they reach maturity - after all, I don't believe a yearling horse can mate, and they're mature within two or three years. So yeah, I think estrus may begin when they hit, say, 18 or 20? Or maybe just their society rcognizes legal age as being the start of estrus, differently from ours?

Yeah, one I see a certain level of OOCness I flip a switch in my mind and just enjoy the action and humor. MMDW had very good action and humor. And excellent music as well.

@kyun: who is that charlatan and why does he disrespect the highly esteemed voice acting/seiyuu business? I don't even know who that is for real.

I'm also legitimately interested in the kinds of differences a culture could have when their females have a more predictable and stronger biological clock than ours.
