The dress would have to be at Twilight's house though so it's presumably Twilight's, ignoring of course that ponies can summon things from Behind the Black at will.

@Ginger: It might have been something from her Canterlot days, perhaps a party dress or something fancy she got from a classmate. Or perhaps that comic where filly Twi dresses up extra-frilly for Celestia was more canon than we realized

Not everyone has to be cute. Applejack is more mature, more grown up than the others. Naturally she's not gonna be as cute, since cuteness is associated with childishness.

And yeah, "just FINE" I hated that episode, so having her just be FINE is honestly a big compliment.

@Ace of Scarabs: Honestly, I'm really tired of every single artist drawing her as a sexy cowgirl with the same exact outfit. I'd design her as more of an ordinary Texas girl if I were an artist: jeans (not skintight ones either), some kind of football/college shirt, the hat, regular shoes. Dressed comfortably, not like some kind of burlesque dancer.

@MR AHR: I spent roughly two years practicing drawing, drawing very often and trying very hard to improve. I finally reached the level where I could recognize that I am extremely bad at art, and that even if I kept it up I would probably never manage to progress past amateur level. So I gave it up, focused more on my writing, which was always what I hoped to do professionally anyway.

So what I'm saying is, I'm not an artist.

It's a nice aspect of her. Protective, welcoming to friends, close to family, and a bit of a tease sometimes :D Of course, she's a mite stubborn, that's how she gets her share of the work done so Big Mac doesn't have to be the sole breadwinner of the immediate family.

Also AJ must have been part of some massive Apple Clan extended-family group hugs, and she must have had some pretty glomp-happy cousins, so she's used to hugs, I should think.
