Dash had a pet once. But she only fed it once. Fortunately it was a Beebo, so her not feeding it was the right thing to do. Unfortunately, she did get it wet, which caused it to explode.

It's kind of weird though, isn't Dash, y'know, the element of loyalty? I know there's more to being a sister than just loyalty, but still...

I think the idea there was "Look what a bad attitude Scootaloo had when Cheerilee was her sister... You really think she could handle Rainbow Dash's influence?"

Also, here's my version of the canon levels:

• Canon: Stuff that is explicitly shown in the show
• WOG Canon: Stuff that doesn't appear in the show itself, but is confirmed by the makers.
• Unconfimred fanon: Doesn't contradict canon in any way, but can't be proven either (ages, Octavia's relationship to Pinky, etc.)
• Exaggerated fanon: Canon attributes exaggerated to non-canon levels (Tyrant Celestia, insane Pinkie, etc.)
• Anti-canon: Explicitly contradicts canon. (What-ifs)

Is it strange that the last 3 are much more fun than the first 2?

Nah, that's totally natural. But it's still important to make the distinction.

Yeah, I just hate when a bunch of fans exaggerate something that never really existed in the first place.

Yeah, they kinda took what was just a few playful incidents and basically created a new character out of it.

I used to be a tyrant-estia supporter, but she really is too nice for it. I still think she needs more legitimate flaws though, or moments where she fails

I've got nothing against it unless they try to pass it off as canon. That bugs me because Celestia is not like that in canon.

This is my attempt at trying to see what's going on in Celestia's mind.

The Pony Wearing the Queenly Mask, as it were. Most of her "perfection" comes from the fact that she's been around for forever and has had enough time to work through her flaws. Although even in canon there are some hints that she gets sick of being The High Queen all the time.

I just wanted to say to the people who were talking about Lauren Faust comments on Rainbow Dash not being a good sister, I think people are reading to much into it. I always thought that if Dash had a sibling (younger or otherwise), they would teasing each other, bickering about things, competing over stuff. You know, like normal siblings.

I have to say, a lot of the Fanon and Alternate Character Interpretations that the fandom comes up with really bug the hell out of me, especially when they treat it as canon. It's like there is a section of fandom that really wants this show to become a Subverted Kids Show or a Sugar Apocalypse.

I've noticed that, too. It's part of the reason I don't want the show to start adding in (many) more nods to us, especially if they take that form.

I'm sure Dash would make a passable sister, but there's no doubt she'd have the 'you're too young and not cool enough to hang with us, so go home' mentality.

I can understand being annoyed by treating fanon like canon (mostly because I used to be a huge anime fan that got incredibly pissed off with yaoi fangirls that were dead set on proving that 2 characters were ttyl in teh loev), but I can't see what the problem is with just generally having alternate character interpretations. As long as the fans don't treat it like canon (which the smarter fans usually don't), then I don't understand the problem. They're just having fun with the characters

That's pretty much what I think. One of the main reasons I like the show is that it's one of the few things out there that manages to be entertaining while still being happy most of the way through. Also because it doesn't use Toilet Humor.

And yeah, Dash would probably be a bit of a jerk to a younger sibling, but it isn't like she'd be intentionally mean; she'd just want to be left alone.

Agreed. Fanon is fine as long as we remember that it's fanon.

So I was watching Red VS Blue while looking at this◊ picture on my iPod. Just as I was paying attention to Pinkie's expression, I hear Tucker say "Get going, Pinky!" (referring to Donut). Yeah, I just thought that was a funny coincidence
