I toyed with the idea of making her a tyrant, but I just couldn't bring myself to do it, she's just too nice. So I settled for giving her one HELL of a What the Hell, Hero? moment with the wmg above

In response to the above fan fic idea... what, would Celestia become Nightmare Sun and have to be stopped? No offense, but I'm sure this has been done before. :/ and I wanna do something similar, which sucks for me.

You could go with it, and you wouldn't have to go against the current canon. Just say that its gradually infecting her. So far all its done is cause her to play small pranks on ponies, but she'll start getting worse from there.

Soon the only people allowed in equestria will be those who she has deemed to be kind, honest and hard-working (It would explain the apparent low crime rate and Twilight's terror)

Fanfic Idea Alert...

Basic summary: Dash's first Sonic Rainboom causes ponies to develop superpowers. Seven years later, Dash makes her first appearance as the heroine Rainboom, Twilight the super-mage is investigating things for Celestia, Pinkie is a reckless villain called Pie Face, Applejack is a mind reading Knight Templar, and "Octavia" is a criminal mastermind. Meanwhile, Nightmare Moon will be returning to Equestria within a year, and there might be a three way war between her, Celestia's forces and villainous super ponies.

Awww... Not that again. I like Celestia to stay pure. But maybe... Maybe back in the day, she used to be just as mean as Nightmare Moon, and she's just had more time to grow out of it after winning that fight?

Celestia as a Knight Templar tyrant would actually be quite an interesting idea, and fit better with the Endless Day theme than a manipulative or corrupt dictator.

Slightly off-topic, both from the current discussion and from the fandom, but here's how I see the different levels of fanon:

• Canon: Anything explicitly stated in an episode, or stated by a creator to be canon. Inarguable fact. Example: Applejack is Applebloom's older sister.
• Canonverse fanon: Speculation on the canonverse, using evidence from canon. Disputes should be decided by strength of evidence. Example: Numerical ages for the mane cast.
• Wouldn't It Be Cool fanon: Essentially WMGs. Unsupported by canon, but tends to build on widely-accepted canonverse fanon. Examples: Tyrant Celestia, most of Luna's personality... and that Applejack's parents were killed by Bloomberg.
• Fanfiction canon: Absolute truth for a given fanfiction that is explicitly stated to differ from canon.

Et cetera, et cetera. Sorry to get so preachy; just felt we should be more clear when discussing fanon whether we mean WMG fanon or canonverse fanon.

That actually makes sense. The first time she shows up after the Nightmare Moon scene, she shows almost no signs of evilness (Swarm of the Century). The second time she shows up, she has a slight trollish nature to her (Bird in the Hoof), and the third time, she destroys an entire royal party just because she didn't like it (and it's implied that it's the first time that it happened). What could make things more interesting is that maybe Celestia will notice her evilness starting to grow within her, and decides to warn Twilight about it, in case one day where she won't be herself anymore

I might further divide the Wouldn't It Be Cool fanon into plausible, like Octavia being Pinkie's sister or Dinky being Derpy's daughter, and Alternate Character Interpretation, like Tyrant Celestia.

Unless the show states otherwise, I'm just assuming they're dead and the show isn't dark enough to bring it up. I can't think of any other reason we haven't seen them by now.

Now I want to see her set up a massive Batman Gambit in order to defeat herself.

Word of God is that she isn't. We always see Scoot when she's hanging out with the other CM Cs, so there hasn't been a reason for her parents to appear onscreen yet.

Lauren specifically stated that no, Scootaloo is not Rainbow Dash's sister. The reason was that "Rainbow Dash wouldn't be that great of a sister", which probably explains why she doesn't have a pet either

Word Of God says she isn't because Dash wouldn't make a good big sister. Her parents are probably just never onscreen because it isn't important.

Same for most of the mane cast's parents; we never really need to see them, so they never appear except when necessary.

My personal fanon is that Applejack works the farm, while her parents run the processing plant and actually cook all the stuff.
