I was mainly thinking of how he would react to how men are so engrossed in a peaceful land inhabited by intelligent horses that often they choose not to associate with other humans. The only things missing are the Yahoos and bronies always hanging around stables.

Death Note is one of those things that has given me heart attack after heart attack. Thankfully the manga was done with when I got into it, so I read it all in one binge and recovered rather speedily.

Idk, I don't think it's that weird. Light's whole murderspree was based on his belief that people should all be perfectly peaceful and kind to each other, and that all he had to do to create a perfect world was to kill anyone who stepped out of line. Therefore, it would make sense for him to be infatuated with a show that takes place in a pleasant, idyllic world. Of course, he would probably have already marked down 2/3rds of the show's characters for death.

And the funny thing was, he only had porn in the first place so he could pretend to be a normal kid.

The Death Note specifically only works on humans, so no. For that matter, it wouldn't work on ponies either. Ok, someone needs to do a comic where Light gets stranded in Equestria, with a Death Note that's now useless.
