I've never been able to appreciate art anyway. I love a well constructed story but painitings and drawings and stuff don't do anything for me.

I love art but most of the stuff they got in museums is quite weak (modern art, ugh). Last time I went to a museum there was one display me and my brother spent more than half an hour looking at though, it was amazing.

One thing you gotta keep in mind when viewing centuries old paintings is that they are considered masterpieces not necessarily for their content, but for the way they revolutionized the methods of art. A lot of the famous old artists got a lot of their respect for coming up with whole new methods of painting. But if you don't keep that sort of thing in mind, it's easy to look at a 'masterpiece' and think: it's just some guy in silly clothes, what's the big deal?

It's pretty, but I think the colors are too overdone. It has a realistic look to it, as though the artist was going for a less cartoony style, but there is no consistency to the lighting. There are shadows all over the place, but no discernible light source, so they make no sense. Don't get me wrong though, it's pretty good, but when an artist is that good I tend to be more critical of them.

I love cute things too, but there is a pretty much infinite amount of it you can get for free online.

Blue: Like Dalek said, it's pretty much just on a collector's whim. I have a real soft spot for cute stuff and this show has really burrowed into my heart, so that may have something to do with it too. Plushies are a lot like more traditional or digital art too in that there's a lot of care and detail that can be put into them to make them impressive works of art.

@Purple Dalek: I can see Twilight getting pretty interested, and Rainbow would probably think art was cool if she gave it a chance. Pinkie would just bounce around making dumb comments and being chastised by the employees. Fluttershy would say the paintings were _nice. I don't think Applejack would be all that interested.
