If I may mention something positive about MMDW, I actually did like some aspects of Rainbow Dash's characterization in that episode. I didn't really find her to be all that much of a jerk like so many others did, though that is probably because I thought the other five were bigger jerks, but that is neither here nor there.
Ginger: Not caring about her probably isn't the right phrasing. More like I kind of forget she exists. Apart from May The Best Pet Win I can't really think of anything important she's done since Discord. Though I really do appreciate her there.

@Mio: I actually liked the basic idea of her character in that episode; the issue I had was that she goes from "eh, it was no problem" to "all ponies must worship me!" after like 2 rescues. I would have liked to see her ego build a bit more gradually rather than jumping right to that. I can easily buy her ego getting that big; they just emphasized it so much that it overtook any other aspects of her characterization.

I think that MMDW works better if you assume that it took place over a longer timespan. That would also why it seemed like so many disasters were happening.
Anyway, I watched the livestream recording and I have a question. If Pinkie Pie is supposedly so OP, why did she lose every match?
