Today is friday, which means it's time for Fanfction Friday over at Topless Robot. I happened to come across an arcticle listing ten The Prisoner references in media. I have never seen the show but I watched ReBoot religiously and was happy to see their episode long prisoner homage made number three on the list. Sadly the Pinky and the Brain episode where the title charcters become "hats" did not make it.

What does this have to do with My Little Pony? Well for some strange reason I can't stop wondering what it would be like if Friendship is Magic did a whole episode homage to The Prisoner. Is there something wrong with me?

Both Celly and Tia are equally endearing to me, although I do agree that Celly definitely has more of a silly tone to it.

Question - what would hapen if Twilight use magic to make parastrites eat only parastrites ?

Well I don't know what spell she was TRYING to cast on them before, but i don't think making them eat OBJECTS instead was part of it. Maybe Parasprites react weirdly to magic?

I like to imagine that Celestia calls herself "Slesty", as in "Slesty Sense is TINGLING!"

They get stuck in an infinite loop of regurgitation until they get tired and forget about the spell?

Twilight was trying to make them not eat the food. However, I don't think she specified what the parasprites' new diet should be and so the spell gave them a craving for random objects.

I have a similar theory - the spell was a command along "stop eating our food!" and it worked, but it didnt remove their ravenous hunger, so they started eating other stuff instead.

I doubt it. Based on how much Snails struggled to light up his horn, and how much trouble filly!Twilight had flipping a page, I'd say that unicorns magic is a bit like physical ability; it's extremely underdeveloped in children, to the degree that it may as well not exist.

Regarding the shortened version of Celestia...

Celes. Seriously, I just thought of it, too.

But playing the cello also makes ponies look a whole lot sexier, as evidenced by the comments on this episode.

All I know about Sweetie Belle's magic is that it brings a great big smile.

I think it's more that the power is there, they just don't know how to use it. Sure, filly Twilight had trouble with the page turning on during her very first experience with magic, but when she had her exam room freakout she cast three separate spells simultaneously.

I'm not sure that we can use Twilight as a comparative point, though. I got the feeling from that episode that she was kind of a late bloomer; like she should have been able to do more magic at that point and was freaking out because it wasn't working. Then the Sonic Rainboom caused her big epiphany moment and the rest is history. Or maybe the magic abilities come with the cutie mark; it's been theorized all over the place that unicorns get magical skills that have to do with their special talents, and Sweetie Belle hasn't found hers yet.

And Snails...he's about as competent as a brick, so of course he'd have trouble.

So, I finally found a way to get my own cutie mark onto my pony self. Behold, my crappy Photoshop skills!◊ I used a clip art picture of a video game controller, and since the design didn't fit the style of a normal cutie mark, I had to make it a silhouetted version of it. Criticism is appreciated
