Okay, short review of the episode:

In Summary - Next time Ginger needs to explain why he hates Pinkie, he should just point to "A Friend in Deed" and say "pretty much that."

In Some Kind of Detail - A musical number that sounds like it should be on an image album rather than in the show coupled with this utterly naive and saccharine view that Pinkie is literally loved by all and loves everyone, topped off by that the whole episode is about her being an obsessively stalkerish annoying git. If I were Cranky, I probably would've just clobbered her.

The problem is, this isn't fun-and-interesting Pinkie who gets flawed and abused like in "Party of One" or "Baby Cakes, " this is mascot face-of-the-franchise Pinkie, and that Pinkie is boring.

Also, my speciesist tendencies are acting up again because I just can't accept that other creatures are on the same social and evolutionary rung on the ladder as ponies.

Otherwise, not downright horrible, but nothing spectacular either.

Show a lot of things happing at once,

Remind everyone of what's going on (what's going on?)

And with every shot you show a little improvement

To show it all would take too long

They could just prefer their style of living and the ponies don't want to force them to live a certain way. Celestia is many thing, but not an Imperialist.

well YMMV but that is exactly what is best about this show, that the ponies really do all love each other, yes Pinkie is the most active about it, but the fact that Equestria is such a place where everpony could be treated like that, without going into full on Sugar Bowl, Tastes Like Diabetes is what makes the show so touching.

Yeah I was thrilled to see that part of the episode because of Dashie reading.

I kind of see where Dantes is coming from because the beginning kind of gives the impression that everyone loves everything that Pinkie does all of the time, which is blatantly not true. My headcanon is that it is mostly Pinkie deluding herself.

Can anyone link a screen cap of that Daring Do book?

I personally think the song is more like Pinkie's mission statement, but i can see how people may see it differently.

@ L someone did awhile back, thre's no legible writing on the cover, it's just smudges.

And yeah, that's what I was getting at. It's implausible that everyone loves Pinkie, invites her to their house, etc. It's equally implausible that she loves absolutely everyone. I'm not buying it. There's someone she dislikes. in my headcanon, that someone is Surprise.

It is the more idealistic interpretation of Pinkie's character.
