again just warning you, pinkie is extra super annoying, but she DOES get called out on it, it IS made very VERY clear that she is entirely in the wrong, at no point is Cranky EVER portrayed as unreasonable or a jerk, and she DOES finally get it though her head that someponies just don't like her usual antics.

Personally, I'd hate myself more if I DID like this episode, because then that would mean I've been a massive hypocritical tosser (moreso than I am already of course)

@Ginger: I don't think you'll have any problem with the overall message of the episode; the issues are that Pinkie is annoying throughout (Even though she's obviously in the wrong), and that the ending is...well I think it kinda came out of freaking nowhere.

Actually It didn't come out of no where, I saw it coming half an episode away. It was very very contrived, but at least none of the contrivance relied on Pinkie being Pinkie, that bad of an ending could have work with any pony or even no pony there.

yeah soon as she read the book, I could tell by her face she saw something she recognized and given that not 15 minutes ago they showed us a female donkey we've never seen before...

At worst, it's a cliched ending that could have been set up a little better.

I actually sort of forgot Matilda by the end, so it kind of caught me off guard.

Won't argue that point, yeah thing this was the most cliched part in the whole series that wasn't taken for laughs. but overall, great episode

I have to admit when I first saw Mathilda my first thought was that they were just sort of retroactively shoehorning her in there to explain why nopony thought it was weird that a donkey just showed up in town when there aren't any other donkeys.

But yeah, the ending was still a huge Contrived Coincidence. I mean, of course he just so happens to end up in the same town...
