@ Kegisak, while I partially agree with the sentiment, I do think it's unfair to judge a story by the fanfiction that's been written about it, and that's what you seem to be doing with FOE.

Yes it is Fallout levels of dark, with lots of dark humour. But as others have said, it's the ending that really sells it, and it does get a bit less gory once they move up from having to deal with raiders, cause yeah anything dealing with raiders is just wrong.

How much worse do things get after those opening chapters?

Seriously, nothing is gonna calm me down while I'm in this state. I'm lightheaded, nauseous, guilty, disturbed, happy, hopeful, sad, curious.

That depends, is it the gore or the tone that makes you feel that way? The gore eases up quite a bit, but the tone stays dark for a long time.

Also, we know why your negative feelings, but why do you feel hopeful and happy?

Wow, edit mania. I view FOE the same way I viewed Madoka. If it wasn't for the promise of a happy ending, it would not be worth it at all.

Huh, same why I felt halfway through Pendragon.
I analyze "Geek Culture" here.

It pretty much hits you with the most visceral parts right off the bat. And yes any parts dealng with raiders is just viscerally bad, but it does shift more to the psychological aspects later.

and I agree with CDRW it's the ending that makes it all not worth it.

It's just how hopelessly mean it feels. and the fact that Lil Pip seems like she's gonna become more than willing to fuck up anyone.

Actually, that's what it is. It's the narration. It's how USED TO THIS that Lil Pip sounds. It just makes me feel sad

Spear and Trident should be before Sapphire Stone and Monkey should be after Legacy

[up][up]That exact issue comes back to bite Littlepip in the ass. Hard. She needs to learn herself a few lessons.

[down] Way more dark than the games, but still really funny at times.

I have never read Fallout Equestria. Is it more or less dark than the actual Fallout games? More importantly, is it more or less funny than the games?

L Mage: Except that contradicts with canon. Just because it's a prequel doesn't mean it was published first.

If it ain't NC 17, I'm probably ain't reading it.

So when does The Thirteenth Sage get sexually explicit? evil grin

@Ginger: If you don't like it just STOP READING. No one will care, unless the writer is a member of this thread, and probably not even then. There are plenty of other things out there you will actually enjoy reading, don't waste your time.

Chronologically, the publishing order is the one they are read in, where Stone is first. The publishing order on the page.

Yeah, but the point of Sapphire stone is, as the first book , it throws you right into the action. The second and third give Daring's history.

@Bluespade but that's it. Part of me DOES like it. I just know another part of me is saddened and disgusted by it. I don't know the ratio of those feelings yet though.

@CDRW and what the hell does that mean?

But seriously, if you do continue, it's not healthy to Archive Binge it. It was published one chapter at a time with plenty of space in between to regain your emotional footing, and you should read it the same way.

What is this whole Fallout Equestria thing anyway? What's the big deal about?

It's a crappy fanfiction that got really popular because it was grimdark MLP.

[up] And that is not true.

[up][up] It's the most famous MLP fanfic in the fandom, and one of the longest.

Mage: Actually, grimdark and dark tends to get a lot of hate... I heard it was because it was a Fallout crossover.
