Lol, yup that's a reasonable reaction. I felt that way pretty much throughout the entire story. If you continue it, I'd suggest spacing out the chapters with something Lighter and Fluffier in between.

If reading something makes you feel physically nauseous (it ain't just what happens, it's the whole mentality) why would you continue?

Wait a fucking second! CDRW, you were the one who kept insisting that it WASN'T grimdark!!

[down] oh, cut the shit!

[up][up] Because the story is just that good. As an audience member, it's incredibly exciting and gripping, and as a wannabe writer I can only marvel at the thoroughness with which the underlying premise of the story is proven.

Edit: Was I? I don't remember. Either way, I think it's not really grimdark because the basic story premise is an uplifting and hopeful one.

Then stop reading it. It's a good story, but not worth torturing yourself over.

What is this romance stuff you speak of?

Personally, I have read bits of Fallout Equestria.

It's not that good. In fact I found it to be overreaching, self indulgent, and generally far to gleefully dark for such a setting.

If Valentine's/Hearts and Hooves makes you feel depressed, remember, at least you're not me who is over 25 and has never had a girlfriend.
Clock is ticking!

I don't particularly care about relationships.

I just think Valentines Day still sucks. It would be better marketed as a holiday based on platonic love, so I wouldn't have to deal with this crap.

Oh my God ginger. We are faceless internet denizens. You should not be seeking our approval of your personal tastes.

I'll tell you a secret. <.< >.> I don't like Lord of the Rings.

I haven't even bothered attempting it. The basic premise doesn't really appeal to me at all, and I don't want grimdark in my ponies.

If it ain't NC 17, I'm probably ain't reading it.

But half of me WANTS to keep reading it.

I have like 50 different violently conflicting emotions all racing through my head. (I think that's part of why I feel sick) Part of me wants to drop dead for reading something like this, another part desperately wants things don't get any worse (but they will), another part wants to finish so I an feel like I belong somewhere.

I wanted to read it, but I wanted to finish Fallout 3 first, but now that I'm already out of my fanfiction phase I have no need or desire to read it anymore.

[up][up]That's an... interesting criteria.

Ginger, it's fanfiction. Anything even vaguely publishable is lauded as being brilliant. Trust me, I still get compliments for Feedback, and that thing was tripe.

It's good for fanfiction. Just because it's as long as a song of fire and ice doesn't mean it's as good. I mean, I'm right there with you. I've read one of the side stories, and it just wasn't that great.

How petty. You already belong here. Half of us haven't read it, nor do we care to. Seriously, where are you getting these conclusions?

It was a joke based on the fact that I really only read porn-fanfiction nowadays.

—sigh— looking for approval on the internet is like looking for freedom of speech in North Korea.
