[up] This.

Again with the morbidly depressing pagetopper!

So... anyone have a request for me? I haven't read the trope page for the series since it was under fifty thousand words long, you see. =D
Can you think inside the chimney?

A Ponibooru comment pointed out that the funeral might've been why the pair of shovels happened to be lying around later in the episode.

Have a Pony equivalent of the Ark of the Covenant, and then have Ahuizotl open it.

Not very PG, true, but it would be worth the sight.
Spooky.

Or a subversion: He starts screaming and flailing, then laughs at Daring for thinking it would be that easy to get rid of him.

I added a Headscratchers page to Daring Do. I had nothing better to do :U

Re: Lily Blossom - I'd assume that they decided to include her because she's been popular among the waves. Helps that, until recently, she was the only pony aside from the Mane 6 and Cheerilee that had original artwork.
If you wish to know, you only need to ask.

...

That article on a series of books that doesn't exist is longer and more detailed than some articles we have on actual books.

I don't know if I should be impressed or concerned.

It just means the fanon is that much of a juggernaut. Granted the fanon hasn't mushroomed until it splits into a megamultiverse on a magnitude like Touhou.

Just saw the scene with Russell in the latest ep. He's a player. That flower cutie mark pony was pissed twist grabbed him first. I thin hasbro is calling us out with the background ponies
With a wife like that who can blame him?

Hm. Touhou. I'll have to look at what the heck goes on there sometime.

Now that I think about it, some of the most stand-out lines for me were delivered deadpan.

  • "I'm a year older than you."
  • "Otters and seals do not fly."
  • "That's an apple tree."
you will go to the paper towns and you will never come back

@Cysma: Hm... this wasn't your first episode day, was it? Because the thread always jumps on episode days.

Cysma, you're going to have to read faster if you want to ever catch up. You've been stuck at 38% for a couple of days now. tongue

Oh boy, I suddenly feel bad for Cysma. It's hard enough keeping up with the thread, but catching up?

Me, I usually just jump to the last 1-3 pages and try to work out the context.

Deadpan humor is always a hit.

And yeah, I kinda gave up on trying to "follow" the thread. Moves waaaaay too fast.

Thanks to the power of my iPhone, I am actually able to keep up with the thread throughout the day, so I don't end up having to read 40+ pages in the evening. If I didn't have that, though, I'd be pretty stuck. tongue

It's bad for me because I don't post in here all that often. And on reflection, when I do I'm a bit of a jerk, or at least it's easy for me to come off as a bit of a jerk.

Thanks to my pocket 3G router, a spare aux battery pack for it, and my trusty tablet and mini-notebook and 3DS browser (yes the 3DS browser can trope perfectly fine grin), I can has internets and track this thread wherever there's no interference blocking the 3G signal.

Why yes, I'm taking full advantage of my retail job to get dibs on my delicious technology at convenience [lol]

I bet Twi would totally invest her bits in computers and/or tablets if she had access to such technology. Hmmm, would it be possible to kludge together a magitech tablet with a spellscript OS using Unicorn magic and some artifact components?

Wait does this mean Fluttershy has slipped somepony a roofie before?

I can keep up with the thread. Granted, the last couple days I've been doing a lot of skimming due to disinterest in the Daring Do project, but the only times I feel a little overwhelmed is waking up in the morning and there are ten new pages.

[up][up] What is it with you and spellscript? You bring it up a lot, but nobody ever seems to talk about it. As awesome as a magical programming language sounds, it really doesn't seem practical for actual spellcasting. The fact that even simply levitating an object requires manipulating forces in three dimensional space means that writing code to do so is far more complicated than simply thinking "I want to move that rock, " then moving a rock.

Now, maybe for something more passive you could do some coding, which would essentially be a more complex version of what enchanting is in most other fantasy systems of magic. It just doesn't seem to me that any sort of spell code could possibly be memorized to be executed unless it is exceedingly simple.

Maybe it's just the way I see magic. Spells can essentially treated as programs, instructions to make it happen, so you can break them down into code and then hack away merrily. I guess I read too much xkcd and hung around Hex and Ponder too much. It also allows you to come up with a programming language to allow computers to comprehend and work magic (Like I said, too much xkcd).
