Here's a thought about the whole "sixteen book in the series" issue: every few weeks, we add a 'new' title to the list since it 'just came out and obviously couldn't be added to the article yet.'

You could even create a subpage just for the book series so the page doesn't get cluttered up.

I have also resisted the urge to watch the episode, though did end up spoiling myself on one or two points. Still, nothing that'll ruin my appreciation of the episode.
