I do know that I would really like to see Luna fight in action as a Big Good now that she is...a Big Good. Would be awesome to see her and her sister fight side by side.

Unless Celestia (or was it just the narration or book Twilight read?) lied and didn't use the elements at all, then yeah, you should be able to get some effect out of just using some of them. Luna and Celestia wielded the elements together against Discord, so Luna was attuned to at least one of them.

My personal pet theory is that the good in Luna (buried beneath her insanity) was just strong enough to resonate with the elements in her posession and combine with Celestia's to make a rainbow blast. The only reason it didn't purify her is because the sisters weren't synchronized with them strongly enough

CMC Discussion: Scootaloo is seriously growing on me now, purely through fan work. One of the things I didn't care for about her was simply her color scheme. That orange and purple is just kind of hideous. But she looks much better in fanart and I like her personality just fine, though she doesn't seem to get to do much.

Sweetie Belle is still my favorite though.

Another Sweetie Belle fan, yes. And again I don't think Scoot is any more annoying than the other CM Cs. I wish we knew more about her family though.

Oh, I don't find her annoying (except aesthetically), she's just not as interesting to me. That seems to be changing though.

I honestly thought that she was a he was the first time I saw her. She seems to just be Rainbowdash only without the flying abilities.

Am I the only True Neutral when it comes to Scootaloo? I don't hate or dis-like her. Not crazy about her either. That doesn't mean she is dull in my eyes. I'm also perplex at how we can heap so much praise on RD but not SL despite their similar attributes.

ALL the CMC are brash and impulsive. She doesn't seem any worse than the others to me. They're a bunch of little kids, they don't think things through. That's what makes them fun.

Man, I just can't rank ponies at all. I mean, I didn't have any sort of favorite until about a week ago, so now everyone ties for second place.

As for Celestia using the elements, my headcanon is that the elements require friendship to fully function, so they can't be effectively wielded alone. Celestia using them alone is probably why she was only able to banish Luna instead of purifying her. Of course, this means that when they fought Discord, Celestia and Luna did have friends, but they weren't immortal.
