@ ginger

Not sure beyond "Really Big"

Anyway, I was trying to subtly imply that TS wrote the books and is the uncredited author, without actually stating anything to direct on it. Do you get that feel?

I like the idea that Twilight Sparkle wrote them or at least dictated them to Spike. That would mean that Rainbow Dash is probably the basis for Daring Do.

[up][up][up][up] I don't think Twilight would have had the time to write at least sixteen books. I also don't see a proper motivation for her to hide them.

I'd prefer it if they had a proper author.

Don't worry, Ginger. Viserys dies. Very painfully

I'm currently reading through all the pages ya'll posted over night, but I just saw this and wanted to say:

Dude. Spoilers. Don't do this.

Also, didn't expect to see you start reading A Game Of Thrones Ginger.

Or are you not talking about spoilers?

I just didn't get the impression you were interested. Since you basically said "that sounds like a series I would hate."

I'm gonna try to avoid gushing about it though, ASOIAF has been my favorite book series since I was 14.

Anyway: Nice to see that Daring Do page is up. I'm probably not gonna add to it though, I don't really like coming up with tropes for a hypothetical series.

One of the books needs to be called Daring-Do and the Shrine of the Silver Monkey.

After reading that page I suddenly got flashbacks to this old viedo game based game show where the final round consisted of one of the kids getting "put into a video game" AKA had to play in front of a green screen where everything fell apart. It also reminded me of Knightmare.

Twilight doesn't really seem like the author sort to me at all, despite her love of reading. I think she spends most of her free time working on magic, learning new spells and developing new ones. I think she probably keeps extensive notes which could later be cleaned up and published, but they'd be the magical equivalent of science papers. I COULD see her working as a literary agent or editor though.

[down] I think she's just a fan.

There are 16 volumes in the Daring Do series that we know of. Maybe Twilight had a hand in publishing one or a few of them, which is why she's so excited to get Rainbow Dash into it!

I was going to add something to the daring do (I give up trying to link it...) page, but badwolfwho beat me to it...

[up] If it's the Fanon Discontinuity one I just realised that the way I wrote that seemed really clunky.

If it's the hottip I accidentally deleted it and then put it back.

This is a bit of a tangent, but would anyone else really like to see this show avert Status Quo is God? Most of the characters have some lofty goal I would really like to see them accomplish. For instance, we could have:

  • Twilight become a powerful and well respected magician, perhaps gaining an official position in the government.

  • Rainbow actually join the Wonderbolts. Any episodes she's not involved in could be justified with "shes training with her team."

  • Applejack improve her business and become rich and succesful.

  • Rarity gain the fame she wants.

Pinkie and Fluttershy don't really have any ambitions, they just want to enjoy their lives. But they could both stand to see some significant character development...

Alternatively, maybe we could have a Flash Forward episode, showing all the characters when they're older and successful.

[up]I would like it to, but It seems very unlikely.

The most you can hope for is a Flash Forward epilogue in the series finale.

I would rather ALL of those things happen, or none. but that's just me. I hate one character being more successful than the others

As much character development as we seem to see, Hasbro still wants the show to have as little continuity as possible.

Averting Ambition Is Evil is actually one of the main things that drew my interest to this show. I love how the characters don't just hang around until something bad happens.
