So there are other towns besides Ponyville in Equestria. Do we know of these other towns? Are they like Ponyville? I suppose Ponyville's like the central hub of culture and is where the Capital lies in that area, considering its somewhat basic name. Creating theories for the neighboring towns would be interesting.

Because giving Pinkie development would take away her randomness and humor, effectively murdering her character and the reason most people like her to begin with. She doesn't NEED to be fleshed out like the others.

I don't see how character development would kill Pinkies character. She can still be Pinkie and have some sign than she actually is more than a gag factory.

I doubt that Ponyville is the central hub of culture considering it was created within living memory.

We also know of Fillydelphia, Trottingham and Hoofington I believe.

Don't forget Cloudsdale, which is essentially a moving city.

I mean other towns not yet introduced, such as the "next town" the Flim Flam Brothers refer to at the end of their episode. Maybe one of them is a port town.

I like Pinkies randomness and jokes, but I do think there can be more to her. Adding more to her doesn't need to remove the randomness and jokes, it could just show why she is like that.

In seriousness, character development wouldn't kill her character. She can still be crazy and random and cooky, but have moments where she gets serious or shows another side to her.
