Talking about it seriously stokes me for playing a real Pony RPG :D

...Are we still talking about a pony MMO? I don't know about it being set during the "Nightmare Moon Era" cause that can only go on for so long until NM gets sent to the moon. Plus if it were set in the "modern" Equestria you'd get the chance to take quests from the Mane Six, and wouldn't Hasbro want them showing up in the game in some form?

That said, I do love The Old Republic even though I know no matter what I do, Alderaan will blow up, the then current Empire will lose the war and it will all become the prequel movies.

I guess I'll throw my idea on classes. Basically I think they can get away by combing race and class, and each race gets tank, healing, & DPS spec

Soldier (Tank) | Medic (Take a guess) | Ranger (DPS)

Pegasus
Storm Guard (Tank) | Weather Pony (Healer) | Daredevil (Rogue-style DPS)

Unicorn

I hear there's a Transformers MMO in the works based on Transformers Prime, Transformers Universe. Its possible if that becomes a success, they'll try to apply the formula to their other franchises like G.I. Joe and of course My Little Pony.

Think we drifted into a standard RPG. Each race's class would have different advantages, right? I see the Weather Pony as being a mass healer but weaker, a strong but single/few target healer for Sages and an average one for Earth Ponies.

And maxing out something (say, 75%) will change your pony...

a Pegasi with maxed out flying will always fly, hovering in the air when still just like like dash. A pony with maxed out strength will grow larger than usual (mac sized if male for example).

Well, there are some bronies working on pony fangames, so it's mostly patience and a wishlist :D

I like the idea that mastering a skill makes it ridiculously hax. Mastered flying gives you unlimited flight stamina, Mastered telekinesis puts a massive strength multiplier on your TK when handling heavy things, that sort of thing.

I think setting it just after Equestria was founded has the most potential. The land would still in need of charting and exploring, grants plenty of excuses to find new locales. Plus, there's certain to be lingering tensions between all the races. (including extremists who think that their race should be in charge) Good fodder for storylines.

Pre-Discord Classical does have excellent potential, you've got the Age of Exploration to fill in the map, and so many new things to learn and discover for ponykind.

I have so much idle fanon about the period just after the founding of Equestria. One large part is that Discord is released before the end of that generation.

Twi is a Unicorn with maxed out magic casting skills.

AJ is an EP with high strength and high fighting, farming, cooking and sports skills.

RD is a Pegisus with maxed out flying and high fighting, sports and pranking skills.

Rarity is a unicorn with high creative, dancing and singing skills.

Fluttershy is a Pegasi with maxed out animal care skills, and high singing and healing skills.

Pinkie is an EP with high speed skills and maxed out Pranking skills and high cooking and dancing skills.

I've seen like four separate attempts at making a My Little Pony MMO since I've become a brony, which was about a year ago. I'm skeptical because more than a pony MMO I want a good quality MMO. If you know anything about the MMO industry they're very hard to maintain, so I'd like it to be in the hands of professionals.

On a somewhat unrelated note, I swear that's Tara Strong voicing yet another purple magic user in this trailer. This is an upcoming MMO by the way (not gameplay obviously, but neat trailer anyways).

The only issue with that is that a professional made MMORPG would have to be sponsored by Hasbro, which basically means it's going to be focused at the show's target audience. Which doesn't necessarily mean that it'll be bad, but it would probably limit the scope of what you could do with it.

Talking about a pony MMO? If there was one, I'd rather have it set during the show. Preferably in Canterlot though.
