I think they just did it to show how much they appreciate their fans, and didn't really have any deeper meaning beyond that.

I rewatched episode again and promo played during credits showed scenes from next episode. Why it wasn't mentioned on EQD?

I can understand people thinking Ditzy is cuter, but when the bulk of the argument boils down to the fact that people think "Derpy" is more offensive, they completely forget the fact that derp is slang for something silly, while ditzy literally means stupid.

Honestly, both names are fine, and Hasbro just went with the one that was more popular/the writers happened to like more.

@Arha from like a dozen pages ago: I don't dislike Pinkie as a character, but I do think she's probably worst utilized character. She gets away with stuff do to Rule of Funny that they other characters wouldn't have been able to. I think she's been improving though; "Party of One" was a big step in the right direction, and "Baby Cakes" and "The Last Roundup" did a good job of showing the ponies reacting to her antics in a way one would expect more.

Also, I'm pretty much right with Perpetual Lurker on the whole "Derpy/Ditzy" thing; "Ditzy Doo" probably fits the show better, but "Derpy" isn't particularly worse. I'm also kinda curious why people latched on to Derpy as being the "offensive" character when there are way worse portrayals of stupidity out there. Patrick, Billy, and Ed come to mind. Heck, even Snails is worse than Derpy is; he's never been portrayed as anything but dumb as a post, and nobody complained about him.

@Lurker Where I'm from Derpy IS a term used to insult the mentally challenged.

Wheras I've only ever heard Ditzy used to refer to someone who's clumsy.

It's one of those strange things. No matter what Hasbro does it won't make everyone happy.

Which makes it more Did Not Do The Bloody Research more than anything else. The point is that the way it's used in the show is obviously not meant to be offensive in any way.

Jteeth: On the other hand, when there's a cider shortage in the very next episode after The Last Roundup and her friend never gets any, she hoards the stuff. Or two episodes after Party Of One she's pretty much all for Discord being in charge.

@Fallen In the UK, Spastic is a relatively charged and offensive way to call someone mentally impaired.

@Arha: Yeah, that bugged me too.

Yeah, over here the term is a lot milder. Calling someone a spaz is only about one step up from calling someone a klutz or somebody who does random stuff, at least in my experience, which is admittedly limited. Like if one of the other ponies called Pinkie a spaz, I probably wouldn't think twice about it.
